Spend the Night with Alice Cooper Sunday, August 14, 2016

Posted on

Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors. He continues to tour regularly, performing shows worldwide with the dark and horror-themed theatrics that he’s best known for.

With his influence on rock & roll long since acknowledged, there is little that Alice Cooper hasn’t achieved in his remarkable career, including platinum albums, sold-out tours and any number of honors and career achievement awards. Check out Alice’s site here:alicecooper.com

TheatreWorks Florida presents Rock Of Ages

Posted on

TheatreWorks Florida proudly presents the regional premiere of Rock Of Ages! Supported in part by the National Endowment for The Arts.

It’s the tail end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strips’ last legendary venues, a place where sex machine Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and scantily clad groupies line up to turn their fantasies into reality.

Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock and roll fairy-tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall.

Can Drew, Sherri and the gang save the strip – and themselves – before it’s too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more hold the answer…

TheatreWorks Florida is a 501(c)3 Central Florida based, award-winning professional theatre company. They offer some of the finest new musicals available today as well as produce new, original works from area artists and artists from around the country.

Rock Of Ages is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
